Taking Credit

Living in this world requires a lot of patience and determination. I say this because not everybody is ready to take credit for what he is doing. The result some one else takes the credit. This looks a clumsy line. But I don't know how I can express this better. Let me try it once again. This time by giving an example.
In a school, the HM takes the credit of the hard work of the students when one of the students excels. People accept that because there is a mile of an age difference between the people involved and the parties involved don't really care about who is getting the recognition.
In the corporate world when this happens among peers, things get nasty and a chain of unwanted reaction follow. This made me gasp in wonder, Why in this world we do find people who want to say they are smart but in fact their recognised smartness is the fruit of somebody'shard work.
I am ending this blog here. But this has come out of sheer frustration. I really am for the people who work hard and not the so called smart ones.
Go Hard Man..

Different guys - Different Mentalities

It is hard to find alter ego (s) in this world. But for the past few months I have been meeting or talking to people who are almost 100% replicas of mine. Is this a co-incidence or Is this a change of fate or Is this what we call Chaos or If it is not any of these, then what is this?

Let me share my ordeal with different people, who I think as my alter-ego in this blog

The names of the people have been encrypted. De-crypt the names and pass it in the comments of the post if you can?

Obzfljiusbl,

Obz was calm, cautious when I first met him. I never knew I would become his best bum in a matter of few months, after having met him at a place which is 15000 kms from where I am now. One meeting and after that all communications happened through the modern version of Graham Bell's invention. It was nice at the start and got interesting as time passed by. Our discussion area would delve around work, work place and suddenly whistle past, the mentality of the menials in our industry, the mediocrity of the higher ups and the insipidities of the elite. It be comes really difficult to work with Idiots. I had almost come to a conclusion that are all higher ups are just idiot boxes saying YES to their higher ups.

But I was to be proven wrong suddenly and immediately by these two guys Rvob and Apsfg..

Rvob is a person of self esteem. He is the second person who almost reflects me in persona and thinking. He is a constant learner, . Identifies the potentials of the team members. But He is not always successful in getting things done by his team mates. Aggressiveness is one thing that is very hard to find in him. That is his positive and negative as well. He knows that people are lying to him yet he does not protest or try to corner them. He wants the people to correct themselves. And I think that is the positive part of not being aggressive. Some people try to exploit his non-aggressiveness and leverage unduly. This is the negative part of his not being aggressive. That made me think that We should be aggressive at times to get the work done by the team members.

But I was proven wrong again. This time by Apsfg.

He is simply perfect . He is real life dark horse. He knows how to handle the hardest of the situation and the hardest of the people. My association with him has made me re-visit many of the principles that I have delved upon, so far in my life. It took sometime for me to understand why he did somethings and why he did not do somethings. As I started establishing a strong connection with him, I got to understand his actions.

Here are some examples of the ideologies that I had to re-visit.
Any given situation, I would take a decision quickly. At least that is what I thought of myself. But after seeing him work through things, I realized that I took decision in haste and not quickly. Manier times my hasty decision has backfired on me. He would not come to me and say that I made a wrong decision. Instead he would not say anything and that would actually make me feel so bad. I myself knew that I had done something wrong and correct myself the next time. I started to observe how he handled a situation. Any given situation, he tries to understand the premises before tackling the actual solution. Though this sounds quite plain and simple, I never did that and I felt it was something that I should learn from him. Once I started to follow his way of tackling problems, the results were awe inspiring.

The next one is the ideology that I inherited from my mom and I was once again made to re-visit this. I have been a conformist all my life and I have always thought that being a conformist is a the right way of living. But after seeing him I got to know that it is not good to be a conformist always. I was not totally in support the idea first. But he did prove that being a conformist is good, but we should be non-conformists at times to survive.

There are a lot of things, I can write about the above people. I will try to write those in my future blogs. That is it for now.

A Fishy day

A day when nothing was so special at the start and everythin seemed to be special at the end.
Got off the bed at a time when demons would take their breakfast 12.00 PM. Finished off all the day's calls and then wrote a blog on my journey from Chennai-San Antonio.
Did some orkutting stuff and got stuck on a phone hunt. But my phone hunt went in vain. Thanks to my always unstable mind!!! Convinced that I shall go for a post paid connection. Hmmm...
As already planned, went to Walmart for purchase. I don't know what struck my roomie, that suddenly he started to move towards the opposite end.
I said, 'Hey Walmart is this way man"
He said, "I need fish" I was awestruck.
I replied, "Where will you get fish here? On the road. Come on Lets go to Walmart and pick the fish there"
He then said,"H-E-B has fresh fish".
Now I got to know why he went the other side. H-E-B was on there.
We went inside after almost getting hit by a car . Thank god there was no damage. A cute looking lady welcomed and guided us to the fish market. And to my wonder, I saw fresh fishes. The guy browsed us thru the variety and we just had one question.
"Which is the fresh piece"
He showed some Tilapia fillets and we got half a pound of it thinking that would be less for us.. But that was not to be!!
Walmart after that. We had a list and started filling our cart with the listed items. We were done in another one hour and came back home.
We had a hard time taking those bags to our home from the stop (it was less than half-a-mile). That was because the bags had contents that are to be used in the next two weeks. Thanks a lot to a lady who offered help in carrying those bags. Even Otherwise we would have managed to carry those bags to our apartment, but we would fallen flat on our bed, straight after that.
Settled the things in the refri. All this time the fish was waiting there to be cooked.
Took the fish out and cut it with the mutton cutting knife. Meanwhile my roomie prepared the seasoning. And this one is for the novice cooks. Seasoning should have 2 tsp of chilli powder, 2tsp of pepper powder, 2 tsp of salt, a little bit of turmeric powder.
We then dressed the cut pieces with the seasoning. Fried them. And wah, the first piece I tasted was really great!! No words to explain. And to add to that fish fry, Rasam was prepared. Hot Fish and Hot and Spicy rasam. Laajawab Combo!!
We sat for the dinner thinking we should finish the fish in no time. But the hot rasam just prevented us from having the entire of the fish. Moreover the joy of preparing a good fish fry had already filled our stomach. Finally we had to put some in the refri for the next day.
I feel that'swhy there is a proverb, A good cook is a bad eater!!!

Chennai-San Antonio

In my pursuit to replenish my blogging spirit, I am writing this blog. May look like a normal encounter, but still I have decided to write it.
Having started from Chennai on a misty night, reached Mumbai airport in the wee hours of the next morning. Quite wary of the departure time, I was wondering why the flight had not taken off even half an hour after scheduled departure time. I came to know from the crew that a few more passengers had to board. At that instant, I was reminded of our city mini-buses which always wait till the bus is full. Even air-planes were not much different either!!
From Mumbai, the flight took off after a delay of one hour. I fell into a slumber after browsing the morning papers. Probably those were the last Indian newspapers I would get a glance of, before reaching San Antonio.
The crew was disturbing people every now and then with what they called refreshments. Things that should have been served hot were served the other way round. Anyhow, that was not the house where I was going to stay for a long time. So I just adjusted to their mini tortures.
Crossed the half way mark, by reaching Frankfurt that afternoon. Frankfurt looked quite beautiful through the window panes. We were asked to wait in the so called lounge, though it was not bigger than a 500 sq.ft hall, till the flight departure was announced. I never thought that we would be in for another one hour delay there. Fine. we took off and this time the refreshments were more challenging to eat. Ii would have taken more than two knifes to tear a bun that was served. It had become so hard due to continuous refrigeration. Hmmm... I started getting desperate. I just dozed off and fell over the lady next to me, who was also in an inactive state. But as soon as I fell, she pushed me like a sumo wrestler and I couldn't anything but to wake in a moment of gaze and stay awake throughout the rest of my journey to Chicago.
Ah! we reached Chicago and before landing I was given some forms to fill. I made mistakes more than thrice and one of the cabin crew members, almost stopped himself from giving me a new form.
Ah!! I was in Chicago-O'Hare. Brisked through the corridors for Immigration and Customs without any hassles. Took the trains to the terminal-3 where my flight to San Antonio would arrive. The flight to San Antonio was only after two hours. So I eased myself at the airport. All this I had not ventured out. But to my surprise, my fingers became numb for the few minutes I had to walk outside to board my flight to San Antonio. It was 25 F.
Had a pleasant flight to San Antonio. My friendS had come to pick me up.
Finally, It did end. My travel from Chennai-San Antonio. And I have lived the longest day of my life. Nov 10 2007.

Understand Urself

Ur way of Undressing Reflects ur personality !!
Till now you might have heard that clothes reflect ones personality.
Well now that fact is as old as pintux.
Here's an interesting forward that claims to reveal your personality traits according to the way you undress. So are you a pealer or a teaser?
Well, the way you undress might just help you discover yourself better.
Go on and indulge in self-exploration. Throw, dump, remove, just do your own thing...

1. If you throw your clothes all over the place, you're a friendly,
life-of-the-party type. You are free! with your thoughts and opinions, not caring much about what others think of you.
Your parents might think your room looks like a cyclone's hit it? But it actually represents your happy, individualistic nature! Stay that way!
2. If you remove each piece of clothing and put it away carefully, you are a serious person who likes life to be very calm. You are comfortable with routine work. And you believe that the best way to deal with life's problems is to prevent them in the first place.
You are a perfectionist. By nature you are quite shy. You're dependable and sometimes intense. You think carefully before making decisions. You go about your tasks methodically, with concentration.
3.If you take off the shirt, and ten minutes later get around to the pants, you are an extremely self-confident person. You are naturally bright and intellectual.
You are also a d! eep thinker who loves to ask questions and ponder over the meaning of things.
You hate being rushed and you do not like to be hassled. Usually you like a lot of free time for yourself.
4.If you get out of your clothes as quickly as possible, you are
concerned about others and what they expect from you, but you're worried about your own needs.
You are family-oriented, and stay extremely busy.
You often feel stressed, but most of those heavy expectations come from your own head! Give yourself a break, you don't have to be perfect!
5.If you take off your rings, earrings, necklace, watch, etc before anything else, you are a warm and sensitive person.
You are considerate and thoughtful, and you give good advice to your friends. You are a natural born romantic.
Helping friends or anybody for that matter ! is your second nature. You hate liars and you would love the world to become a better place.
6. If you don't have an undressing routine and you never do it the same way twice, you are a very curious and interesting person. You enjoy a broad range of activities. You take risks and enjoy fun and adventure.
The word monotony cannot dampen your spirits at any cost, as you live life kingsize. Having fun is as much a part of your routine as slogging it out at office.
Hope u cld judge urself by now.
